Hey there, I'm Matt!
I am a multimedia designer with over three years of creative experience. My passion lies in video production, which I consider my specialty. Whether it's videography, photography, editing, animation, or graphic design, I find solace in creating engaging stories.
When I'm not designing, I enjoy weight lifting, reading, and a good game of chess. I constantly seek out inspiration in the world around me, and I am always up for a challenge.

My Story
I discovered my passion for multimedia design when I was in the 12th grade. I had seen some of my high school friends running around the school with cameras filming content, and I wanted in on the action. After learning that my classmates had enrolled in a "Communications Technology" course, I followed suit. It was in this class that I discovered my love of content creation. Using the Adobe Suite, I used programs like Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects to create compelling stories. I had an amazing teacher who allowed the class to have extensive creative freedom. It was liberating watching some of my wildest ideas come to life on a computer screen.
When I graduated high school, I thought I would try and get into a Marketing or Public Relations role. I felt I had strong writing skills, which prompted me to study Communication and Media Studies at Carleton University. My design work took a bit of a back seat as I focused on my writing skills, however, I took every opportunity I could to remain creative. I joined the Carleton Communications Society, and within a year I was promoted to the VP of Communications, allowing me to thrive as a designer and create engaging graphics while managing all social media. I also enrolled in a Digital Media Production workshop, allowing me to further my skills as a designer. Furthermore, I was lucky enough to work for Hydro Ottawa as a Digital Content Advisor for two summers. Working directly under their Digital Content Specialist, I learned valuable hands-on skills in graphic design and web content management.
Upon graduation from Carleton University, I went to Algonquin College to pursue a post-graduate certificate in Interactive Media Management. At Algonquin, I became a well-rounded designer, improving upon my skills in videography, photography, video editing and graphic design, while learning brand-new skills in UX design, web design, and motion graphics.
I have since completed my post-graduate education, and have been working as a freelance designer for over a year now. I offer services in videography, video editing, and motion graphic design. I am open to new freelance clients, if interested, please check out my contact page.
